Look at Apple Office as an example

Apple has a larger user base than desktop Linux. And yep, MS sells a version of Office for that community. It always seems to be on the verge of collapse - the software is supposed to be good - but it is such a limited market. Add support for how many flavors of Linux? - and you have a potential for a support nightmare. As Apple is a vertical market with very tight controls on their product at least MS has fewer problems regarding support issues. That would not be the same with Linux.

The other killer to any potential deal is the GPL and demands from the open source community. All porting to Linux would do is create more pressure on MS to go open source. And the potential to be hauled again into court due to some unforseen stumbling over the GPL.
