show how the Sun board has voted. The open source evangilists at Sun have been either shown the door, or expected to behave with the goal of making money.

I don't see the issue as serving two masters. From looking at their web site - it's low end servers that can be had with Linux - or Windows 2000 or 2003 Server btw - and it's offered in various flavors of Linux.

So they offer Unix Lite with various flavors of Linux - all in a x86 CPU. It's their commodity market. All of their low level SPARC, and all mid to high level servers are Solaris. That is the money making end - and now there becomes better reasons for their sales department to push Solaris due to the interop with Windows that Linux does not have.
