LOL, not so free anymore is it, the free stuff is gonna be so hard to use,
If you read the article you would have noticed the line where it says that maybe novel purchased ximian and suse so the have non ms clients(desktops) for there server software. There's one good reason to continue providing the consumer suse. If people can work with the same desktop at home as they do on their jobs they'll accept the change over all the faster. Novell has all the reasons it needs to continue supporting the consumer product.

I have no trouble in switching from widondows 2000 to suse on my machine. In fact there isn't all that much difference in the user interface. Most people do some word processing, emailing and browsing. There are excelent pieces of free software on linux for that. So if it takes of in the buisiness sector you will see more people using it at home as well. One big pro for suse in my opnion is that it has never freeze on me. No blue screens of death. No need to restart my pc just because I have installed anopther piece of software. So I'm using Suse and i think I will be able to do that for a long time comming.
