Absolute numbers are relatively useless....
The absolute number may be higher, but there are more computers in action than there were when XP came out. Has it not crossed anyone's mind that this is a very fundamental form of spin by M$, that should have been seen through a long time ago, and recurs with every new version for which the claim is possible? Meaningless.

Furthermore, I'd bet that the vast majority are OEM licenses...for products not yet sold and still sitting on the shelf somewhere...and which may never make it off the shelf. What percentage will be in use?
