How about naming your clients? If they are from the large federal departments (e.g. DOD - that's a rather large one), or agencies thereof, they are active participants in the federal Enterprise Architecture initiative, and maintain an interest in the ongoing compatiblitiy testing. They are not burying their heads in the sand. If you do find those incompatibilities, you should report them. I am relatively certain by now that the OpenOffice incompatibilites are beneath the level of MS version incompatibiities (I saw a site several months ago where some trials were being run, and OpenOffice did in fact beat Office-Office. You or I could probably find it by Google. As I recall, the authors admitted the test documents could possible be from an unresentative class, but people are working daily to find and swat compatibility problems.) If you're trying to avoid that incompatibility risk, you're already in a no win situation as soon as one of your customers switches Office versions.
