And you know this how?
<< Someone might be tempted to say these companies might be tempted to go for open source, but that would mean significant support costs where well-trained computer professionals are drawing unusually high salaries. >>

And you know this how? From reading MSFT sponsored position papers? I love it when people who can barely find the power switch on a PC start spouting dribble that only announces they've never run an actual hands-on trial or set up a server in their entire working career.

It doesn't cost anymore to support F/OSS than Winblows. Even if you pay more for the techs, and there's nothing to support that MSFT latte inspired fallacy, you don't need as many of them.

In any hands-on trial of F/OSS that we've run, for any customer, MSFT has never won. Not on cost, not on reliability, training costs, security, scalability, nothing. Zip, zero, nada. Not everyone opts out of the lemming treadmill, but it's not because the facts don't support the change. But that's going to change.

<< If the United States can add verification of software licenses to the requirements for exporting companies, that would be a major advantage for adoption.>>

Major advantage for who? You don't think we've pushed enough of our culture and big ideas on the rest of the world? Maybe it's time to listen instead of talk.
