Hi Kevin,
Didn't mean to create the impression of a fight when there isn't one. I understand that Flex is for developing Web applications with different technologies (which was noted in the article).
But with Apollo, Adobe is trying to enable hybrid desktop/Web applications (or just desktop apps as you point out) which is a clearly a limitation of today's browser-only applications.
