Not a One-Up
Hey Martin,

I think you're mixing the line between what is Flex and what is Apollo. For the most part, your article is about Flex, not Apollo. Apollo is a cross-OS runtime and is relatively indifferent to Ajax or Flex/Flash. In fact, Ajax applications can be deployed on Apollo, without any Flash whatsoever, as first class desktop citizens.

Apollo isn't a one-up for Ajax developers, but rather a new avenue for Ajax developers to bring their skills, abilities and applications to the desktop. On Adobe Labs you might take a look at the "Fresh" sample application. This is an Apollo desktop application that's an RSS news reader - done entirely in HTML/JS/CSS using common Ajax toolkits.

Let's not pick a fight where there isn't one to pick. Apollo is desktop goodness for both Ajax and Flex/Flash developers.
