It's the laywer compensation that is really telling....
I think the most telling part of the story is the lawyer?s compensation (assuming it?s true). It is like SCO sat down with the lawyers and told them their strategy to get them to take the case. That strategy is SCO will sue IBM. IBM has more money than God so they will just pay for licensing or buy SCO out to avoid litigation. You see it is a win-win situation for the lawyers and SCO.

But little did they know IBM had others ideas. IBM called their bluff and the lawyers now have to actually work for their money. This would explain SCO's slow start to their law suits and why they can't seem to deliver any proof to anyone (even under court order). The squeeze to Linux was not in their plans (even they said this initially) and that is why they did not act, except verbally. It was the verbal attacks that they were banking to change IBM's mind. That failed so they decided to sue someone, anyone, to convince IBM they "may" have a case. The suits say nothing about the IBM case really and Chrysler's case is strictly about licensing SCO products. All are easy targets without having to show any real evidence.

Before I thought there was a small possibility that SCO was on to something. But more and more this appears to be a song and dance so SCO can cash in on their investments. They know they are a failing company (even before this mess). The winners if SCO has their way are the powers to be (and perhaps some employees that has a lot of stock). The losers are the employees that have to find another job; not to mention all of us for wasting our time with this fiasco.
