But I am not
Back when NT4 was freshly released, the cost of Novell (with 50 EU's) was substantially higher than NT4 (using the M$ competitive upgrade pricing). Our accounting software was due to be upgraded and the client-server version of that software would not run on Novell. That coupled with the instability of Novell led our migration to NT. Office was NOT bundled with the server CAL at that time (not sure if it ever was), so that wasn't a consideration.
As far as TCO, my company saved over 20K the first year by using NT. I might also add, 2 of these NT4 servers are still running...24/7 !
I am however, looking at alternatives to M$ but Novell won't be in contention for the reasons I have outlined above.
There is no such thing as a NOS platform that fits every company and every situation.
