Hey! Just what we need!
For many office desktop computers, (who use only MS office and IE) the current configuration may be more than sufficient. Even for me, at work I have only a 400 MHz Pentium II on which I run MS word, an email client and IM and a unix client software, through which I login to a unix system and do my regular development work. In my previous company (Three years back) I had a 132 MHz computer with Windows 95 and a UNIX client. That was a bit slow, but still not very bad. Getting a 64 bit desktop is just not going to improve my productivity.

But at home, it is a different story. I do a lot of home video editing and digital image processing. I always felt the need for more power. I will be more than happy to welcome a 10GHz, 64 bit processor !!! I am sure there will be many more like me.
