Adolph Hitler, Josepf Stalin, Federico Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro, and any other dictator that you care to add were free from anti trust laws. That sure helped their countries, didn't it?

The idea of anti trust laws is that competition is maintained in the market place by preventing any one company (monopoly) or group of companies (cartel) from arbitrarily setting prices or availability to the detriment of the consumer. That the decision of Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly did not do this simply indicates the error of her decision to accept the absolution which was proffered as a "Settlement".

An alternate possibility would be to declare any business entity which achieves legal monopoly status a public utility and subject it to government regulation.

That threat just might keep these companies honest.
