You may be right
but I am under the impression that a judge can issue a contempt citation on her own motion and order the offender detained immediately (but then again, I'm no lawyer).

I'm quite sure that Steve Ballmer would find a plane ride to Washington, DC escorted by a US Marshal far too humiliating to contemplate. I'm also sure he wouldn't be in jail long, but even overnight would be severe punishment.

That said, it's probably not going to happen.
