What about forwarding, carnivore and the future.
A simple forward (by configuration or manually performing the forward) would obfuscate the final gmail destination. You have NO protection against any email you send being archived in a gmail account except including a >1G attachment were the content of the message is stored inside the attachment and cannot be extracted individually.
If I were to see the benefits of a remote storage system (which I don't) for 1G of email this is what I would do, I would simply forward all my email accounts to my gmail account and manage them from there, so tough luck to you for sending me an email you don't want archived.
Also you may want to consider that the US govenment may at some time in the future want to scan the entire gmail vault of every user to look for 'incriminating' evidence. (see patriot act III) This is as easy as dedicating a 'carnivore' system for google.
But not to worry, as long as all you talk about now is not illegal or 'suspicious' you will have no trouble, unless of course societies standards and laws change, then you will be in for it, as your habits are archived and part of your permanent record.
Well enough of the conspiracy theory what do you think? Would you want all your communications potentially archived, scanned and available for subpoena or to the latest cracker?
