Isn't April Fools day past and gone? I thought it was...

I suppose that these are very bright, shiny apples that lack nutritional value. The new Open Source apple (Open Sauce? har, har...) will be spotty and oddly colored, and maybe even a little strange-tasting, but will be oddly addictive, grow wild in any kind of soil and be immune to disease. Then there's the OS/2 apple, which will be everything every eater ever wanted, but no one will be told that it exists and it will wither up and die overnight. Oh, the analogies...
