how can someone see a difference when they have not seen the
os loaded on a machine yet? ...you can't!

having said that, when Apple introduces new upgrades they
usually are well worth the money when compared to the
upgrades of m$. but the major differences are that Apple has
the os tweaked so fine that their upgrades usually are more
towards neat new features. when m$ has upgrades they usually
focus so much on trying to emulate the Mac look & feel that they
fall short on stability & security
