From a Mac user - Yes & No

The current 10.3 is a BIG improvement in speed and
usefulness.

10.2 was not that big a deal. 10.1 was a free jump from10
and helped smooth some bumps.

Stability has not been a problem with OSX so the versions
don't improve it much.

As with Windows, you really don't NEED the upgrades. Most
Mac versions, after 8.6, are quite good - with no need to
ever reload the OS. That was something you had to
occasionally do with earlier versions. agreat number of
Windows users sem to be happy with 98SE and Win 2000 -
probably about the same percentage of Mac users who are
happy with older versions

The only opgrades that we've ever bought were copies of
8.6 to load on older machines that came with 7.6. We
bought OSX as trials (as we did with Mandrake), but never
loaded it in work machines. We now have some OSX 10.3
machines that came loaded with it.
