Wow, great news,
I can see a Novel Linux Desktops, which is just SUSE with Ximinan Desktop (based on GNOME), and all of the Novel utilities. I can also see Novel Linux Servers, based on SUSE, with NDS and all of the other server applications. I can see a lot of enterprises that would be a lot less hesitant about buying Novel Linux. This will be a great mix of open source and proprietary software.

Of course keep the SUSE brand as well. Both versions would use the exact same kernel, just different desktops, and suite of applications.

And, this really helps Red Hat as well. They might have a smaller piece of the pie, but the pie will be a lot bigger.

Actually, the question is who will buy Red Hat? Sun would be a perfect fit in my opinion. They desperately need to transition from proprietary Solaris to Linux, sooner or later.
