Bill Gates is worth 50 billion or so. Someone with 50
billion donating 100 million is like someone with 100,000
giving away 50 bucks. He probably has stakes in LOTS of
companies.
What are you talking about? This article doesn't discuss any
"donations." It only discusses an investment, a law being
broken twice, and a levied fine.
If I were picayune (which I am), I'd mention that someone
with $50 billion investing $100 million is like someone with
$100,000 investing $200 (not $50). That is, if we're going
strictly on a percentage basis. In reality, though, $100
million buys a whole lot more influence with a company
than $200 does, which is why there are laws like the one
