Yeah, it's not exactly "technology news"
Unless Gates was attempting to gain control of the company, and the article makes no implication that this was the case. Oversights are regretable and embarassing, but this one is hardly likely to affect the technology you or I or industry use in the future. If anybody has been stopped for expired tags (this one hits home) when they had the notice from DMV, fully meant to send in the renewal, but somehow failed to do so, knows the feeling.

Must be a slow news day.
