What about online comics?
Are they some strange aberrations that don't count as "real" comics? If you count them, then saying the digital age has been detrimental to comics cannot be justified. Over the last decade comics have exploded online. Yes, there will always be a market for professionally produced comics, but isn't there incredible value in the voices of everyday people? This generation has chosen blogs, wikipedia, podcasts, online videos, etc. Is it any wonder we have, to a large extent, abandoned traditional comics in favor of a more fluid, independent form? The digital age has neither harmed nor aided the comic industry, it has fundamentally *changed* the industry.
