Exactly the decision I have come to
The online MMORPG I'm spending of my leisure time on runs on Java, and works quite happily on Linux. I've used Linux for most of my work for some time with no real trouble.

My youngest daughter has also managed to attract so much adware malware and viruses on her XP pc that it was almost unusable (yeah she had "anti virus", but it happily let this crap through), and our 2Mb DSL connection was running at 15Kbs.

?60 on anti virus software and hours spent attempting to clean Windows up has left many problems in it's wake, and I am gonna have to reinstall.

I've now got her booting Linux, which means She can connect to MSN, get her mail and do all of Her school work in an environment which isn't a malware ridden cesspit.

Microsoft has lost it's way big time, and they had better start concentrating on satisfying it's customers, as at this rate Windows will soon be an irrelevance.
