I disagree... the choices are NOT limited. CompUSA builds custom boxes, lots of PC sellers do, you can probably even order a Dell desktop with XP on it. But no, WALMART probably doesn't have XP boxes. I can't see the premise of the article is valid for anything other than noting that most 'package' sales are Vista now. It's not difficult to get an XP system.... but yes there's a reseller push to sell the latest product... uhm, duh. (And you could probably get even Linux or whatever your anti-MS flavor is). You will have trouble getting Win95... I expect. So who's the article for? 'Newbie' consumers who aren't pc savvy in the first place? Business buyers should be negotiators anyway...
