Ability to transfer XP to replacement system
Doesn't the XP software license as written by Microsoft permit transfer of the system from one machine to the next legally if you remove it from the original system? Why is this so difficult to accomplish? Certainly, the ill-considered "restore" disks from vendors such as Dell, IBM, and others are tailored to their boxes. Sounds like a great area for some energetic law firm to originate a class action suit aiming to make this legal transfer a practical reality.
