What about your current XP license
If my PC dies it is probably the hard drive so I install a new hard drive and reinstall XP. Vista is never considered. The same is true of almost any other component. If my box gets hit by lightning and I have to purchase a brand new PC, my current software just gets moved to the new box and I carry on. If the new box is loaded with Vista, I can put my XP license on it after trashing my old box.

I understand there may be a problem with adding an second PC and I for one prefer to keep all the PCs in my house (currently at 4 plus 2 laptops) on the same version just to make support managable.
