If you can read information from the masters then they are the product (and you can). I find this is hilarious - anyone with half a brain could see that this sort of thing will happen quite often with 'software patents'. The problem is not whether or not US companies should be liable for infringing products overseas (they should be - or else you screw another US company which is selling to the same market, and I think this is the point AT&T is making) - the problem is with software patents. We were doing just fine without software patents - copyright law was more than adequate - but someone just had to make them up. By the way, how many Microsoft products do you see distributed with something like "unauthorized duplication of this product is a violation of patent law"?
