If Windows would have a startup list that wasn't hidden in the registry, people could see what starts up each time their computer boots and remove what they didn't like.

Windows registry is what is causing this pain. Most people have no clue to find the stuff that auto-starts and which ones to remove.

Letting spammers or spyware people police themselves is equally dumb. Why are these idiots in office? Is the government really that out of touch?
