You misunderstood
I would give the nod to Apple and it's Xerox copied gui enhanced over time. Why not? They lock the software to the hardware so of course they can get a gui that is more consistent that an OS that's designed for the masses and runs on a wide variety of machines of all shapes, sizes and configurations, not just one. That's the easy part and something Apple zealots love to point out but it's still just the lipstick. (although aero graphics is NICE). The real OS lay under the hood and Apple has never touched Windows in this area of configurability and programmability. Vista is a tool that can be used with a wide variety of other cutting edge technologies with great integration. It's a workhorse for business and now just as pretty for the home user that thinks the screen designs are the crux of the OS.

By the way, don't forget Judge Jackson has stated unequivocally that there is no viable competition to MS and the ruling stands to this day far as I know. Apple zealots have to face this fact, either the anti trust case was a political game and a farce, or Apple did and still does make inferior software to the point of not being a viable alternative to Windows. And now Steve Jobs is trying his hand at theater by professing the world should be DRM free....what a performance!!
