So what's your beef?
As for your employer, employers make decisions all the time that users may or may not like. Unfortunately, to allow users to use what they like would be IT anarchy and no employer is going to support that type of wasted tech support, time, expense, and employee resources.

So what's your objection to Texas and Minnesota choosing to use document formats that meet their business needs and insisting that their employees conform with that decision?
