You are correct again, LR
and once again, it is meaningless.

The question that all employers ask is indeed "Do you know MS Office?" just like all 175,000 kids will delete all apps and use that key as a storage device without ever looking at the apps.

Unfortunately, all employees who have used the open source office apps are lying renegades and will say "Yes! I know it well!" despite having never touched it, and they will walk in on the first day and start using it as if they had for years, because they know office open source.

Way to make a point.

After the first job a bit more weight is given, in my experience, to experience with the actual type of work being done, rather than the tools being used. Still, you are correct, the entry level jobs that these schoolkids will be going for first will probably focus more weight on the importance of knowledge of the tools, punctuality and attire. But then, they will likely all go for a second job, and the paradigm shifts.

So, all the new applicants who aren't bright enough to say "Yes! I know it well!" you are correct about, until they go for a second job. I expect that is a small number.

So mostly, you are just wrong.
