I agree...
That's totally true. I think it's really niffty that Mono exists, and you can run some .Net software on Linux, but it will obviously lag behind the Windows implementation -- most likely at an unacceptable level.

Borland still saves the day though, by deploying your app as J2EE on Linux you'll have the cost savings and freedom of Java/Linux.

Then again, why waste time writting your app in .Net anyway? J2EE runs on Windows and Linux (and everything else).
