They can make it target either .NET or Mono
This will be a great for the pointy haired boss that thinks everything has to be Microsoft. The employees can quietly use the Borland tools so that they can deploy on Linux/Mono or on Window/.NET. When it comes time to deploy on 200 servers at a savings of over 2 grand each, you will look brilliant.

Really, .NET compatability will have to be done at the design tool level. Microsoft will create a moving target hairball that even they will have a hard time keeping straight. So, Borland really has a good oportunity here to reduce .NET deployment costs.
