AutoZone seem to be saying they don't know what their
infringment is.
If it was over compatability libraries, surely this has nothing
to do with Linux as such and everything to do with the
licence under which AutoZone bought the libraries?
As you say, if SCO can prove this one, then AutoZone has a
problem and maybe some other SCO customers who are
doing the same thing. But given SCO stopped supporting
the OS, I'd be interested in what AutoZones comeback
might be.
Perhaps the libraries were licenced only for use with SCO's
Linux? Does AutoZone have to keep paying fees to keep
using the libraries, even though there is no support and
(presumably) no more updates? Have AutoZone used the
source, modified it and used with with Red Hat?
All this should be very simple to discover, if only we knew
exactly what SCO alledges AutoZone have done wrong.
