I'll forget the insults and respond.
"Many (not all) open source programmers have an agenda which does not involve money. This does not mean they are not rewarded for what they do - it just means that the reward is not money. For some people that is very important."

Ok, I really do understand that. It is one of the reasons I work hard at being a volunteer fireman. It's not for the money. But, I also know that if the other firemen were being paid then I would want the same.

Are you saying that when someone working on say Linux see's IBM pulling in billions from their work it has no effect on them? Are they really that giving? Do they not care that on top of it IBM owes their own employees billions in back pay and is doing all they can to weasel out from under that obligation?

Sure seems that some very strange benefits are being provided for nothing and the ones on the taking end are laughing all the way to the bank.
