A serious question...

I see a LOT of companies taking the work done by open source coders and making millions (billions if you believe IBM) of dollars from their work. Is there a point coming when the open source community will wake up to the fact they are being used by the corprorate community?

Yes I understand that by creating a "service industry" around open source it allows a very small percentage of open source coders to work for wages here and there, but is that really what everyone wants? Work for free or maybe (if you are one of the very lucky) work as a wage slave.

I just don't see it continuing much further, especially as more and more companies rake in the big bucks while those doing the work get nothing. But hey, as they say, there is one born every minute...
