Bad examples
Donnie: For one, I don't recall these lines for 95 that you are talking about. Frankly, at that time, I don't know that enough home pc users existed to create these mythical long lines that you keep referring to.

The only other valid examples you have come up with are child things. Children's books and video game systems. Let's also not forget, that half the people waiting in line for those PS3's only did so to turn around and cash in on eBay.

Also, let's not forget that Microsoft did not make 95 available to hundreds of thousands of people for Beta testing. Many of the people that might have ordinarily stood in your phantom line probably already have a fully upgraded Beta2 on their pc that will be valid though June of this year. Whay run out and spend money to replace something you can use for free until June? I've got Office12 Beta on my computer here at work, have had so since November. Why on God's green earth would I stand in line at midnight to buy something that I have available to me for free until June?

Quit being such a hater, compare apples to apples and you'll see that Bill Gates spot on the richest person's list is in no danger because people didn't form a line at midnight of release day.

Bill Gates has more money than God and over the next few weeks he'll have a crap load more whether you choose to believe it or not. And guess what? When he releases another version in five years he'll have even more money and you'll probably be trying to knock him down then as well.
