Probably about as hard as it is for you to
understand that it doesn't really matter that the masses didn't line up to buy Vista.

Vista will be on the majority of desktops at some point. People will use it, get used to it, and a large number of them shockingly enough, will actually like it.

I realize that goes against everything you believe... but it's true.

re: 1995, keep in mind that the difference between Windows 3.11 and Windows 95 was a huge leap. The difference between XP and Vista, while nice in it's own right isn't quite the same. Also the availability of purchasing software over the internet will also reduce those lines you're looking for.

I realize that you want to make this into a huge deal that the lines were short or non existant, but it really doesn't matter.
