Detonation
Vehicles with internal combustion engines will detonate on hydrogen fuel. That's because it's more sensitive to heat than gasoline. BMW has a 325 that runs on it, and not only does it detonate a lot, but it produces less HP. The only engine that runs well on hydrogen is actually the wankel rotory engine in the RX-7, and RX-8 now. But a fuel tank will hold less than half of the fuel that gas will, so the tank would have to be a lot bigger. Also, it would take quite a while to fill it up, like hours. Using grain alchohol is not good either because all the energy required to produce it, like running the farm equipment and watering the crop ends up producing less power than it needs to create the fuel. But I'll tell you a good one: Did you know a diesel engine will run on coal dust? Or the oil out of a deep fryer like the fast food restaurants use? People actually do that, and the diesel was originally designed for coal dust by the nazis who didn't have enough oil around to run their engines.

MARC

P.S. The diesel doesn't pollute either when it runs on cooking oil either.
