you are wrong - internal combustion via H works fine
Cars today would not work fine running on pure hydrogen.

Wrong - 99% plus of the cars on the road could be converted to hydrogen fuel simply by adding a tank and a simple conversion kit.

Letssee, you'd need a different fuel tank, fuel lines, injectors, computers, and a host of others.

Yup, I said excluding storage issues. But it turns out that technology like Metal Hydrides can store Hydrogen much more safely than keeping gasoline on a vehicle. Almost every crash shot by Hollywood shows the car bloing up - that would not happen with Hydrogen - that's a gas thing!

If you are converting gas to hydorgen, the converter alone would run more than $100. Just
the fuel lines from the converter would be more than that.

Basically its just the opposite. The internal combustion engine was invented to use hydrogen but the cost of producing hydrogen was prohibitive.

Every modern direct injected engine is already ready to run hydrogen, no computer required, if you have a carberator then there are some extra costs but look it up, hydrogen can run every existing engine on the road with a 15% gain in power (same basic level of pollution) or with a 15% loss of power (near zero emissions). Just the savings in catalytic converters and computers to burn gas cleaner would generate a huge savings!

Ya see, the industrialists were afraid if people realized water had more energy in it than petroleum they might not pay huge fees for energy. Just the Solar energy on one square mile of ocean surface is huge - our dependence on petroleum is a myth perpetrated on us by the petro dealers who have us hooked.

How many internal combustion hydrogen injectors have you priced out lately. How much for retrofitting the computers to compensate for the new fuel?

What new fuel? The only purpose for gas is to carry hydrogen into the engine for combustion. It just brings so much crap along with it that needs to go out the exhaust (like carbon monoxide, etc). If the engine ran pure hydrogen it would not even notice the difference, and just rip out the anti-pollution stuff and go back to simple timing.

All of this is not only doable, but the only real obstacle is how do you store and distribute the hydrogen which is a gating factor in fuel cells as well. The only reason we are not moving over aggressively is that big petro dollars would be in jeopardy ... monopolists hate change even if it does create ugly problems like pollution and terrorism ...
