At the PDC in Orlando a couple of years ago, MS was showing a demo movie regarding what .NET was good for and it did all that the prez says has to be done in the next decade. The notion was that the person's health records from various sources, insurance information, were all on the Web as web services and, when the individual was run over by a speeding message delivery bike while he was out of town on business, he could get info on his cell phone as to where to go for aid (based on his insurance company's info service) and when he got to the preferred provider, the hospital was able to access his medical records from his hometown docs as well as validate his insurance.

The privacy paranoids will freak out, but Mr. Bill's message was that all this knowledge could come in handy in a pinch.
