Er... That's not quite what he said...
Note that Robert said his machine has 512 megs of RAM. This is barely sufficient to run XP Pro-64, much less Vista x64. Upgrading to at least 1Gb would be a huge improvement. 2Gb would be even better.

That's not quite exactly what he said. Read it again:

CPU - Pentium Duo 2.8Ghz (2mb cache); RAM: 1Ghz DDR400; HDD: 2x160Gb SATA; Video: 512mb Geforce PCI-X 6200; Sound: Creative Audigy.

OK.. So he made a typo - it's not 1 GHz, it's 1 GB of RAM. The video card has 512 MB on board.

For what it's worth, Nvidia's drivers for Vista (and XP, for that matter) have been rock solid - at least on my system.

Also, what Ed said - the 6200 card ESPECIALLY with 512 MB should give him all the Aero he needs. BUT as Robert said, that card gave him a fairly low score - 2.4.

My GeForce 7300 GS with 256 MB of video memory likewise gives me the same sort of low score on RC1. Oddly enough, even as such, Vista and Aero seem to manage to run just fine. The 6100 series chipset built into the motherboard gave a similar score, if not a tad lower. My main reason for swapping in the 7300 based card was the onboard video took up too much of the built in RAM.

Not quite sure what kind of rating Vista would give some of the newer cards and configurations - like the 7900 series or 8900 series - especially in SLI mode, I'm not quite rich enough to swap them in and out. BUT, I would imagine those would get a MUCH higher rating from Vista.
