Fix lame commercials
People wouldn't be skipping them if they weren't so annoying. People purposely watch the superbowl commercials where creativity and content are encouraged.

The average CableTV commercial is very loud, is repeated many, many times, and usually has no cleverness nor creativity. The Used car dealer shouting "buy my cars! all on sale!" is annoying and people want to skip it.

If radio commercials increase, people will switch to MP3 players or CD players. Any time you shove too much annoying stuff at a consumer, he'll move away from it. TV went from 24 minute shows with 6 minutes of commercials to 20 minute shows with 10 minutes of commercials. Is it any surprise to see viewers avoid them?

I love my ReplayTV. My only hope is an open-source version comes out as repair is too costly and the lifetime subscription won't transfer to a new unit. I'm watching Freevo (http://freevo.sourceforge.net/) waiting for it to happen.
