Personally, I think the reason you don't see as many DVDs being traded is the bandwidth required to move 4.7GB. Do it very often and your cable provider is likely to give you trouble.

However, you're right about not beating the geeks. I've noticed a growing number of private wireless grids going up around college campuses, large apartment complexes, etc. They aren't connected to the net, so I wonder what they are sharing?
