You can't beat the geek
When will the industry realize that you can't beat the geek. If anything, geeks will rip music, zip it up and send it to their friends, who will send it to their friends, etc. The problem isn't music rippers, its the price of the music to start with. A music CD is almost as expensive as a DVD. How crazy is that? But with DVD rippers becoming common, why arn't movie distributors having problems? My answer is because a DVD is a lot of value for your $15 (or $8 and a place like CD Warehouse). Consumers, I think, don't mind paying for the real thing if its worth the money.

So quit spending billions trying th beat the geeks. Just lower your over-priced products.
