Truth in reporting? whoa, hold on...

ZDNet writes: ". The company's iTunes service is so tightly
integrated with its hardware business that songs bought
through the store can only be easily played on Apple's iPod,
not other MP3 players."

I believe this is not true. I believe that the songs cannot be
downloaded DIRECTLY from iTunes to another player.
iTunes and the ITMS work with Mac OS X.2.5+ (I think) and
W2K+.

However, one CAN burn the songs as MP3's onto a CD and
then transfer them to another player. If you do not pay for
the software that does it automatically, like you do with the
iPod, then why the hell should you be able to do it on an
inferior player?

Buy your songs, burn a cd, transfer them to an MP3 player.

Doesn't really sound like a closed ecosystem at all now does
it?

Do ZDNet reporters actually have to have had journalism
experience before they are let loose on a ..... oh wait, they
are all MS users so perhaps since Apple doesn't put a
service pack out for every cheap MP3 player on the market,
they couldn't figure out how to do it.
