Google is an excellent search engine, we all agree on that. It is also making money for the small amount of private stockholders that it has. But, the LAW indicates that after you have so many stockholders you have to go public. Whether or not it will change Google is not the point, the DON'T have a choice. Read the entire article a little more closely. Seagate had to do it a couple of years back also, did it mess up their product?
I know that if they do go public, I want some shares. And I don't think that the stockholder pressure will force them to change. Its the best there is right now. It goes along with the KISS rule, and they are keeping it simple. That was their original idea. As I said, they don't have a choice and neither do we about them issuing an IPO.
