I hope significant improvements have happened since RC2. As of that version, I couldn't even install Vista, let alone run any games. (I was able to install RC1 just fine, so something got screwed up in the meantime.) From what I saw, the compatibility wizard isn't a panacea. There were quite a few things that wouldn't run, even with the wizard.

Of course, this was RC1, but it's a little disturbing to me that they considered such a rough product a "release candidate".

I've learned not to rely on vendors updating their software. I can name you all kinds of games that are released, never to be patched. I'm sure all new games will get Vista updates, but I wouldn't hold my breath for any games you've had on your machine for a year or more.

I'm waiting for a review to tell me why I want to use Vista. From what I saw when using RC1, there wasn't anything really compelling. The file structure was interesting, and it's about time they had a decent search system, but the file structure isn't a reason to upgrade, and I've already got the search functionality covered with Google Desktop.
