I think any anticipation of heavy sales (at this point) is wishful thinking.

I tried Vista RC1 on my machine, and I can honestly say that unless some new whiz-bang features have been added in the meantime, I won't be upgrading. The most compelling thing about Vista was the updated file structure (e.g., virtual folders). The search capability was somewhat impressive, but it didn't seem like anything I don't already get from Google Desktop.

I think the change over to Vista will be more incremental than the change to Windows 95 was. Eventually, when applications stop running in anything but Vista, people will have to upgrade. I don't see that need now, though.
