The US government is in bed with Microsoft
You really are very naive if you don't think that the US government intelligence agencies do not rejoice at the close ties between Microsoft and themselves. Are you completely unaware of the scandal of the backdoors which Microsoft put into NT so that the NSA could access any Windows NT machine in the world, and mine it? Do you not realise that many countries outside of the USA (i.e., the rest of the world), is not aware that the capability to 'switch off' 90% of desktops, is not a very real, potential weapon? Why do you think so many countries are moving away from MS? Would YOUR company allow a Chinese monopoly to control when its payroll, accounting and stock programs went into 'Demo' mode? Wake up!!

A CARELESS mistake by Microsoft programmers has revealed that special access codes prepared by the US National Security Agency have been secretly built into Windows. The NSA access system is built into every version of the Windows operating system now in use, except early releases of Windows 95 (and its predecessors). The discovery comes close on the heels of the revelations earlier this year that another US software giant, Lotus, had built an NSA "help information" [local] trapdoor into its Notes system, and that security functions on other software systems had been deliberately crippled.
