You're right there... Open Office and MS in general
We are restricted to the MS brand of bloatware, but just about all of us have Open Office running in hidden directories (mine is on a portable drive). When asked for software suites, we give our employees OO to run at home (compatible, but not cranky by half). It makes them happy and keeps our budget (and licensing) in line.

At least with the Linux installs I've dealt with, I never get an NTLDR error looping. I know it's fixable, but MS knows there is a problem with it and chose to post the get-arounds instead of fixing the coding.
